These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of users with respect to the mobile game "Dear My Frog" (the "Service") provided by YW Lab (the "Developer").
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set forth the conditions and procedures for use of the Service provided by the Developer, as well as the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of users and the Developer, and other matters necessary for the use of the Service.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "Service" means the "Dear My Frog" mobile application and all related additional services.
- "User" means any person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
- "Account" means the identifying information of a User who optionally signs in with a Google account to store data in the cloud.
- "In-Game Currency" means the virtual currency and items used within the Service (Diamonds, Gold, Hearts, Feed, etc.), which cannot be exchanged for cash.
- "Content" means text created and posted by Users within the Service (wishes, support messages, frog names, etc.).
Article 3 (Posting, Effect, and Amendment of Terms)
- These Terms take effect upon being posted within the Service or on the Terms page.
- The Developer may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable law, and shall provide notice within the Service no fewer than 7 days before the effective date of any amendment (30 days in advance for amendments unfavorable to Users).
- Users who do not agree to an amended version of the Terms may discontinue use of the Service and withdraw their account. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of an amendment constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
Article 4 (Use of the Service)
- The Service is provided free of charge; certain content may be purchased through in-app purchases.
- Internet access may be required to use the Service; any data charges incurred are the User's responsibility.
- The Developer may conduct scheduled or emergency maintenance for stable service delivery and shall notify Users in advance. In urgent situations, notice may be provided after the fact.
Article 5 (Eligibility and Accounts)
- The Service is available to users aged 13 or older (in compliance with Google Play policy).
- For users residing in the Republic of Korea, users must be aged 14 or older to register an account and consent to the collection and use of personal information. Users under the age of 14 may not use the account registration or cloud data storage feature (Google Sign-In) of this Service.
- Account registration is optional; the game may be played without an account, but data may not transfer if the device is changed.
- Users are responsible for managing their account credentials. Users are solely responsible for any loss arising from unauthorized use or theft of their account.
Article 6 (In-Game Currency)
- In-Game Currency is a virtual asset usable only within the Service and cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred, or gifted.
- Diamonds may be obtained through in-app purchases or as rewards for watching ads; Gold, Hearts, and Feed may be obtained through gameplay.
- Gold rewards may be granted for sending support to other Users' prayers; specific reward amounts and frequency limits are subject to change based on operational needs.
- If abuse of the support system is detected — including through fake accounts, automation tools, or duplicate support — the relevant rewards will be revoked and account access may be restricted.
- Upon termination of the Service or account withdrawal, unused In-Game Currency will expire. Refunds may be requested in accordance with applicable laws including the Content Industry Promotion Act.
- For content where rewards are determined by probability, such as the in-game spin wheel, the probability of each outcome is disclosed on the "Probability Information" screen in the in-game settings menu pursuant to Article 33 of the Game Industry Promotion Act. Any changes to probabilities will be announced along with a history of prior rates.
Article 7 (In-App Purchases and Refunds)
- In-app purchases are processed through the Google Play payment system; payment information is handled by Google. The Developer does not directly collect or store payment information.
-
Refund Policy:
- Unused Diamonds may be refunded within 7 days of purchase through the Google Play refund process.
- Diamonds that have already been used are not eligible for refund.
- Detailed refund procedures follow the Google Play Refund Policy.
- The right of withdrawal under Article 17 of the E-Commerce Act may be exercised within 7 days of the Diamond purchase date, limited to unused Diamonds. Withdrawal may be restricted once digital content has been fully or partially used.
- If a minor makes a purchase without the consent of a legal guardian, the legal guardian may request cancellation pursuant to the Civil Act.
- If purchased Diamonds become unusable due to a fault attributable to the Developer (e.g., service failure), the Developer will provide direct compensation or a refund.
Article 8 (Advertising)
- The Service provides rewarded advertising through Google AdMob. Viewing ads is optional; in-game rewards (such as Diamonds via the bug event) are granted only upon full completion of an ad.
- If a reward is not delivered due to an ad loading failure or network error, please try again shortly or contact us at the address listed in Article 14.
- The handling of advertising-related information, including the Google Advertising ID (GAID), is governed by the separately published Privacy Policy.
- Responsibility for ad content lies with the respective advertiser; the Developer is not directly liable for disputes arising from advertisements.
Article 9 (User Content)
- Users may create text content within the Service, including wishes, support messages, and frog names.
- Copyright in content created by Users belongs to the User. However, Users grant the Developer a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use such content to the extent necessary for service operation (including displaying it to other users, showing it in rankings, and backing it up).
-
Prohibited Content:
- Profanity, defamation, discrimination, or hate speech
- Obscene, violent, or graphic content
- Personal information (real names, phone numbers, addresses, etc.)
- Advertising, promotional, or spam messages
- Content that infringes the rights of others, including copyrights or rights of publicity
- Any content that otherwise violates applicable law or public morality
- If the Developer determines that content created by a User falls under Section 3 of this Article, the Developer may delete such content or restrict the User's access without prior notice.
- Users may report inappropriate content created by other users. The Developer will review such reports within 7 business days and take appropriate action (deletion, access restriction, etc.), notifying the reporter of the result. Appeals may be submitted via the contact information in Article 14.
- Push notifications regarding other users' wishes and support may be disabled in the in-game settings or the device settings.
- Unlinking a Google account may result in the deletion of cloud-synchronized data. Locally stored data on the same device should be separately deleted through the "Delete Account" procedure in the settings screen.
Article 10 (Prohibited Conduct)
Users must not engage in the following:
- Using the Service in an abnormal manner, or accessing, modifying, or hacking the system
- Using automated programs (bots, macros, etc.) for gameplay
- Circumventing the payment system or currency structure, or obtaining in-game currency through fraudulent means
- Impersonating, deceiving, or harassing other users
- Intentionally disrupting the operation of the Service
- Manipulating the device's time settings to fraudulently obtain in-game rewards (such as dispatch completion times or automatic currency generation)
- Abusing the support system through fake accounts, automation tools, or duplicate support to manipulate wish rankings or fraudulently obtain rewards
- Any other conduct that violates applicable law or these Terms
Article 11 (Suspension and Termination of Service)
-
The Developer may temporarily suspend the Service in the following circumstances:
- During system inspection, maintenance, or replacement
- In the event of communication line failures, natural disasters, war, or other force majeure
- When normal service delivery is difficult due to excessive usage or similar circumstances
- If the Developer permanently terminates the Service, Users will generally be notified 30 days in advance via in-Service notice or email. Procedures for refunding unused purchased Diamonds at the time of termination will be provided in accordance with applicable law. In the event of unavoidable circumstances — including natural disasters, inability to maintain servers, or significant personal hardship on the part of the service operator — the notice period may be shortened, provided that the minimum notice period required by applicable law is observed.
Article 12 (Disclaimer of Liability)
- The Developer is not liable for service interruptions caused by force majeure events such as natural disasters, war, or communication failures.
- The Developer is not liable for service disruptions attributable to the User.
- The Service is provided on an "AS IS" basis, without warranty of fitness for any particular purpose.
- The Developer is not liable in connection with the use of services provided free of charge, except as otherwise required by applicable law.
- The Developer has no obligation to intervene in disputes between Users or between Users and third parties (including advertisers), and is not liable for damages arising therefrom.
Article 13 (Governing Law and Dispute Resolution)
- The interpretation of these Terms and any disputes relating thereto shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
- In the event of a dispute arising from the use of the Service, the Developer and the User shall endeavor to resolve it through mutual consultation.
- If no resolution is reached through consultation, either party may bring an action before the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act.
- Disputes related to game content may be submitted for mediation to the Content Dispute Mediation Committee (opens in new tab) (www.kcdrc.kr).
